Brook Bike Trip

Come take a ride on one of our yellow bike's for a nice relaxing trip over to The Brook Waimarama Sanctuary and avail of our free return bike shuttle. The Brook Waimarama Sanctuary is a community-based initiative working to create a pest-free wildlife sanctuary close to Nelson, New Zealand. You can pick up some food from the Verdict's cabinet or a bottle of wine or two, we will include glasses.

Brewery Starts Bicycle Scheme

Bays Brewery launched a new borrow-a-bike scheme from The Verdict Restaurant and Ale House in Bridge Street. Members of the public who would like to visit the sanctuary are welcome to borrow a yellow bike and helmet for free. There are six bikes, lots of helmets, combination locks and high-visibility vests available - anyone who wants to use them simply has to register at the pub.

It's a 5km ride to the sanctuary from town. Bays Brewery co-owner Peter McGrath said for many travellers it was too far to walk and the bikes were his way of helping the project.
